In 1915 the life of a police officer was bleak. In most communities they were forced to work 12 hous a day, 365 days a year. While they didn't like this, there was little they could do about it. At that time there were no organizations to make their voices heard, and no means to have their grievances known. In May of 1915 twenty some brave police officers from Pittsburgh, PA met and began the Fraternal Order of Police. So it began a proud tradition of police officers representing police officers. Today the tradition lives on with over 300,000 members worldwide.

The New Haven County Lodge continues this tradition, don't be confused, we're
NOT a labor union. We're a fraternal organization with members from many of the law enforcement agencies in New Haven County.

The New Haven County Lodge has members from the
Amtrak Police, Branford Police, East Haven Police, Guilford Police, Hamden Police, Madison Police, Meriden Police, MTA Police, Naugatuck Police, New Haven Police, NYPD, North Haven Police, Inspectors of the Office of the Chief State's Attorney, SCSU Police, VA Hospital Police, Wallingford Police, Waterbury Police, Woodbridge Police and Yale University Police.

We welcome and encourage other law enforcement professionals to join our local lodge.

We also welcome members of the public to join as
Associate Members. Associate members receive an annual member identification card and vehicle sticker, and most important of all they support  the membership. For more information click on the "How To Join" button below.
